Financial Planner
I have been a financial advisor since April 1, 2005. Yep, April’s Fool Day. Sometimes I wonder if the joke is on me! Prior to that I owned and operated small businesses. I was in the jewelry industry for over 20 years, earning many certifications from the Gemological Institute of America. I decided it was time for a change, so I went to work with my brother and helped him grow a successful graphic design and marketing firm. After 5 years there, I wanted another challenge, so I started thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up. (My wife is still waiting for me to do the growing up part!)
As I thought about my next career change, I thought about the things I like to do. I’ve always liked to help people – I was a volunteer firefighter for almost 10 years, and to this day I still miss it – and I’ve always tried my best to be kind and understand that everyone is struggling with something. As a small business owner, I know the struggles other business owners feel. As a husband and father, I know the struggles that families deal with. And I know the financial issues that everyone can struggle with. Believe me, I’ve made my share of mistakes, but I learned from them. It dawned on me that if I put all that together, I might one day become a decent financial planner.
You may have noticed that I don’t take myself too seriously. I do, however, take what I do very seriously. We often talk about heavy topics, but my goal is to make every interaction as light and as fun as possible. And I always tell potential clients the same thing – I don’t have all the answers. This is too complicated an industry for one person to know it all. But I also say that, if I don’t have the answer, I can get it. That is the power of Andmore – our ability to collaborate with some of the best minds in the business to provide solutions for individual problems.
I’ve mentioned I’m a husband and a father. I’ve been lucky enough to be married to Bonnie, an elementary school teacher, since 1994. We have three sons – Liam, Sean, and Ryan. I cannot thank them enough for being my support as I changed careers a couple of times. It’s really because of them that I do what I do – they inspire me to be better.
I have always been a lifelong learner, so I am continuously reading books and articles on financial planning, and I follow many other planners on social media. I have three designations from The American College of Financial Services - I have earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designations. I am fascinated by the human mind and how it works in helping or blocking financial decision making, so I have the Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA™) designation, too. I am Series 7, 6, 66 and 63 securities registered, and I have the life, accident, and health insurance licenses.

I very much look forward to helping you.
